雅各书 James 4 << || >>
[niv] What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you?
[asv] Whence come wars and whence come fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your pleasures that war in your members?
[jnd] Whence wars and whence fightings among you? not thence, -- from your pleasures, which war in your members?
[kjv] From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
[nwb] From whence wars and fightings among you? not hence, from your lusts that war in your members?
[rsv] What causes wars, and what causes fightings among you? Is it not your passions that are at war in your members?
[web] . Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don't they come from your pleasures that war in your members?
[ylt] Whence wars and fightings among you? not thence -- out of your passions, that are as soldiers in your members?
[bbe] What is the cause of wars and fighting among you? is it not in your desires which are at war in your bodies?
[niv] You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God.
[asv] Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and covet, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war; ye have not, because ye ask not.
[jnd] Ye lust and have not: ye kill and are full of envy, and cannot obtain; ye fight and war; ye have not because ye ask not.
[kjv] Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
[nwb] Ye lust and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
[rsv] You desire and do not have; so you kill. And you covet and cannot obtain; so you fight and wage war. You do not have, because you do not ask.
[web] You lust, and don't have. You kill, covet, and can't obtain. You fight and make war. Yet you don't have, because you don't ask.
    [ylt] ye desire, and ye have not; ye murder, and are zealous, and are not able to attain; ye fight and war, and ye have not, because of your not asking;
[bbe] You are burning with desire, and have not your desire, so you put men to death; you are full of envy, and you are not able to get your desire, so you are fighting and making war; you have not your desire, because you do not make request for it.
[niv] When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
[asv] Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend it in your pleasures.
[jnd] Ye ask and receive not, because ye ask evilly, that ye may consume in your pleasures.
[kjv] Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
[nwb] Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume upon your lusts.
[rsv] You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.
[web] You ask, and don't receive, because you ask amiss, so that you may spend it for your pleasures.
[ylt] ye ask, and ye receive not, because evilly ye ask, that in your pleasures ye may spend .
[bbe] You make your request but you do not get it, because your request has been wrongly made, desiring the thing only so that you may make use of it for your pleasure.
[niv] You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
[asv] Ye adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore would be a friend of the world maketh himself an enemy of God.
[jnd] Adulteresses, know ye not that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore is minded to be friend of the world is constituted enemy of God.
[kjv] Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
[nwb] Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
[rsv] Unfaithful creatures! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
[web] You adulterers and adulteresses, don't you know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
[ylt] Adulterers and adulteresses! have ye not known that friendship of the world is enmity with God? whoever, then, may counsel to be a friend of the world, an enemy of God he is set.
[bbe] O you who are false to God, do you not see that the friends of this world are not God's friends? Every man desiring to be a friend of this world makes himself a hater of God.
[niv] Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely?
[asv] Or think ye that the scripture speaketh in vain? Doth the spirit which he made to dwell in us long unto envying?
[jnd] Think ye that the scripture speaks in vain? Does the Spirit which has taken his abode in us desire enviously?
[kjv] Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
[nwb] Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
[rsv] Or do you suppose it is in vain that the scripture says, "He yearns jealously over the spirit which he has made to dwell in us"?
[web] Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously"?
[ylt] Do ye think that emptily the Writing saith, `To envy earnestly desireth the spirit that did dwell in us,'
[bbe] Or does it seem to you that it is for nothing that the holy Writings say, The spirit which God put into our hearts has a strong desire for us?
[niv] But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
[asv] But he giveth more grace. Wherefore the scripture saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.
[jnd] But he gives more grace. Wherefore he says, God sets himself against proud, but gives grace to lowly.
[kjv] But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
[nwb] But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.
[rsv] But he gives more grace; therefore it says, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
[web] But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
[ylt] and greater grace he doth give, wherefore he saith, `God against proud ones doth set Himself up, and to lowly ones He doth give grace?'
[bbe] But he gives more grace. So that the Writings say, God is against the men of pride, but he gives grace to those who make themselves low before him.
[niv] Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
[asv] Be subject therefore unto God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
[jnd] Subject yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
[kjv] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
[nwb] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
[rsv] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
[web] Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
    [ylt] be subject, then, to God; stand up against the devil, and he will flee from you;
[bbe] For this cause be ruled by God; but make war on the Evil One and he will be put to flight before you.
[niv] Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
[asv] Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye doubleminded.
[jnd] Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse hands, sinners, and purify hearts, ye double-minded.
[kjv] Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
[nwb] Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse hands, sinners, and purify hearts, double-minded.
[rsv] Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you men of double mind.
[web] Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
[ylt] draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you; cleanse hands, ye sinners! and purify hearts, ye two-souled!
[bbe] Come near to God and he will come near to you. Make your hands clean, you evil-doers; put away deceit from your hearts, you false in mind.
[niv] Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.
[asv] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
[jnd] Be wretched, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and joy to heaviness.
[kjv] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
[nwb] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and joy to heaviness.
[rsv] Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to dejection.
[web] Lament, mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom.
    [ylt] be exceeding afflicted, and mourn, and weep, let your laughter to mourning be turned, and the joy to heaviness;
[bbe] Be troubled, with sorrow and weeping; let your laughing be turned to sorrow and your joy to grief.
[niv] Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
[asv] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall exalt you.
[jnd] Humble yourselves before Lord, and he shall exalt you.
[kjv] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
[nwb] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will lift you up.
[rsv] Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you.
[web] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you.
[ylt] be made low before the Lord, and He shall exalt you.
[bbe] Make yourselves low in the eyes of the Lord and you will be lifted up by him.
[niv] Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it.
[asv] Speak not one against another, brethren. He that speaketh against a brother, or judgeth his brother, speaketh against the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judgest the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
[jnd] Speak not against one another, brethren. He that speaks against brother, or judges his brother, speaks against law and judges law. But if thou judgest law, thou art not doer of law, but judge.
[kjv] Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
[nwb] Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judgest the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
[rsv] Do not speak evil against one another, brethren. He that speaks evil against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.
[web] . Don't speak against one another, brothers. He who speaks against a brother and judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge.
    [ylt] Speak not one against another, brethren; he who is speaking against a brother, and is judging his brother, doth speak against law, and doth judge law, and if law thou dost judge, thou art not a doer of law but a judge;
[bbe] Do not say evil against one another, my brothers. He who says evil against his brother or makes himself his brother's judge, says evil against the law and is judging the law: and in judging the law you become, not a doer of the law but a judge.
[niv] There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you--who are you to judge your neighbor?
[asv] One only is the lawgiver and judge, even he who is able to save and to destroy: but who art thou that judgest thy neighbor?
[jnd] One is the lawgiver and judge, who is able to save and to destroy: but who art *thou* who judgest thy neighbour?
[kjv] There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
[nwb] There is one lawgiver, who is able to save, and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
[rsv] There is one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you that you judge your neighbor?
[web] Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?
[ylt] one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy; thou -- who art thou that dost judge the other?
[bbe] There is only one judge and law-giver, even he who has the power of salvation and of destruction; but who are you to be your neighbour's judge?
[niv] Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money."
[asv] Come now, ye that say, To-day or to-morrow we will go into this city, and spend a year there, and trade, and get gain:
[jnd] Go to now, ye who say, To-day or to-morrow will we go into such a city and spend a year there, and traffic and make gain,
[kjv] Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
[nwb] Come now, ye that say, To-day or to-morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy, and sell, and get gain:
    [rsv] Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and get gain";
[web] . Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow let's go into this city, and spend a year there, and trade, and get gain."
[ylt] Go, now, ye who are saying, `To-day and to-morrow we will go on to such a city, and will pass there one year, and traffic, and make gain;'
[bbe] How foolish it is to say, Today or tomorrow we will go into this town, and be there for a year and do business there and get wealth:
4:14 [cbgb] 其实明天如何,你们还不知道。你们的生命是什么呢?你们原来是一片云雾,出现少时就不见了。 < | >
[niv] Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
[asv] whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. What is your life? For ye are a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
[jnd] ye who do not know what will be on the morrow, (what your life? It is even a vapour, appearing for a little while, and then disappearing,)
[kjv] Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
[nwb] Whereas ye know not what on the morrow: For what your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
[rsv] whereas you do not know about tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.
[web] Whereas you don't know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.
    [ylt] who do not know the thing of the morrow; for what is your life? for it is a vapour that is appearing for a little, and then is vanishing;
[bbe] When you are not certain what will take place tomorrow. What is your life? It is a mist, which is seen for a little time and then is gone.
[niv] Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that."
[asv] For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall both live, and do this or that.
[jnd] instead of your saying, If the Lord should will and we should live, we will also do this or that.
[kjv] For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
[nwb] Instead of that ye to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
[rsv] Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and we shall do this or that."
[web] For you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that."
[ylt] instead of your saying, `If the Lord may will, we shall live, and do this or that;'
[bbe] But the right thing to say would be, If it is the Lord's pleasure and if we are still living, we will do this and that.
[niv] As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil.
[asv] But now ye glory in your vauntings: all such glorying is evil.
[jnd] But now ye glory in your vauntings: all such glorying is evil.
[kjv] But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
[nwb] But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
[rsv] As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
[web] But now you glory in your boasting. All such boasting is evil.
    [ylt] and now ye glory in your pride; all such glorying is evil;
[bbe] But now you go on glorying in your pride: and all such glorying is evil.
[niv] Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.
[asv] To him therefore that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
[jnd] To him therefore who knows how to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin.
[kjv] Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
[nwb] Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth not, to him it is sin.
[rsv] Whoever knows what is right to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
[web] To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn't do it, to him it is sin.
[ylt] to him, then, knowing to do good, and not doing, sin it is to him.
[bbe] The man who has knowledge of how to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin..
